Xero Practice Manager reporting
Turn your XPM data into clear practice intelligence.
Practice Clarity connects to Xero Practice Manager and brings your timesheets, productivity, WIP, billings and debtors into one consistent Microsoft Power BI reporting suite built specifically for accounting firms.
The reporting gap
XPM runs the work. But can everyone see how the firm is performing?
Xero Practice Manager captures the operational data your firm needs. The difficulty often begins when partners and managers need to connect that data across people, clients, jobs, WIP, billing and cash.
Reports are viewed separately
Timesheets, jobs, WIP and billing may be available, but understanding the full commercial story often means moving between multiple views.
Answers still require exports
A partner question can trigger another spreadsheet export, filter, pivot table or manually prepared report before anyone has a clear answer.
Trends are difficult to follow
Point-in-time totals do not always make it easy to see whether WIP, productivity, recoverability or debtor performance is improving over time.
Everyone builds their own view
Partners and managers can arrive with different exports, filters and reporting dates, creating unnecessary debate about which number is current.
Practice Clarity does not replace XPM. It adds a consistent reporting layer that helps your firm understand and act on the data XPM already contains.
One connected reporting suite
Turn operational data into a clear view of firm performance.
Practice Clarity structures the information already captured in XPM into reporting modules that connect the full commercial journey from staff capacity through to collected cash.
Your existing system
Xero Practice Manager data
Staff, clients, jobs, timesheets, WIP, invoices and related practice information remain in the system your team already uses.

Productivity
Compare productive hours, capacity and performance against firm targets.
Work in progress
Monitor current and aged WIP by client, job, staff member, manager and partner.
Billings and recovery

Debtors and collections
Separate overdue invoices from amounts due next, then drill into the clients and invoices behind each total.
Real reporting examples
See your XPM data from every angle.
Move from firm-wide totals to the people, clients, jobs and transactions underneath them without exporting another spreadsheet or rebuilding the report.
Stop chasing timesheets manually
See completion across the firm and drill into the individual staff members, dates and missing hours requiring attention.
Surface ageing WIP before write-off
Break WIP into ageing bands and identify the clients, partners, staff members and jobs behind the highest-risk balances.
Make collections proactive
Separate overdue balances from invoices due this week and next, then identify exactly which clients require follow-up.
Every reporting view can be filtered by the roles, teams, clients and date ranges relevant to your firm.

Keep running your firm in XPM. We make the reporting clearer.
There is no replacement project and no need to retrain your team on a new practice-management system. Practice Clarity operates as a managed reporting layer around the systems and workflows you already use.
Confirm read-only access
We establish the appropriate connection to your XPM data without changing jobs, clients, timesheets or invoices in the source system.
Structure the reporting model
Your practice data is cleaned and organised into a consistent model across staff, managers, partners, clients, jobs and reporting periods.
Configure your firm’s views
Reporting filters, role access, targets and relevant firm structures are configured around how your practice is managed.
Roll out and train the team
Partners, managers and staff receive the appropriate reporting views, training and support to use the platform confidently.
Role-based reporting
Give every level of the firm the right XPM reporting view.
Row-level security means the platform can provide broad firm visibility to leadership while giving managers and staff access only to the information appropriate to their role.

XPM reporting FAQs
Common questions from XPM firms.
The platform is designed to improve reporting visibility without replacing Xero Practice Manager or disrupting the workflows your team already uses.
01 Does Practice Clarity replace Xero Practice Manager?
No. Your team continues using XPM to manage clients, jobs, timesheets, WIP and billing. Practice Clarity adds a separate reporting layer that makes the information easier to connect, analyse and share across the firm.
02 Can Practice Clarity change information inside XPM?
No. The connection is designed for reporting access. Practice Clarity does not update your XPM jobs, clients, time entries, invoices or other source records.
03 What XPM information can be reported?
Reporting can bring together relevant information across staff, clients, client groups, jobs, timesheets, WIP, billing and debtors. The available reporting is confirmed during discovery and implementation based on your firm’s XPM setup and data.
04 Can staff see sensitive firm-wide information?
Not unless the firm chooses to give them that access. Row-level security and user roles are configured so partners, managers and staff receive the reporting views appropriate to their responsibilities.
05 Does our team need Power BI experience?
No. The reporting suite is designed for accounting firm partners, managers and staff rather than technical analysts. Training is included as part of implementation so users understand how to filter, navigate and drill into their reports.
06 How long does an XPM implementation take?
A typical implementation is completed in approximately six weeks, subject to data access, the agreed reporting scope and timely confirmation of your firm structure and user access.
07 Can XPM data be combined with other systems?
Yes. Multi-source reporting can be scoped where a firm needs to combine XPM with other relevant operational or financial data. The systems, access method and additional requirements are confirmed before implementation begins.
