Product and suitability

What Practice Clarity does and who it is for.

Practice Clarity is a connected practice management reporting platform designed specifically for accounting firms.

In one sentence

It turns the data already inside your practice systems into live, interactive Power BI reporting.

What is Practice Clarity?

Practice Clarity gives accounting firms one connected view of timesheet compliance, productivity, work in progress, billings, recoverability and debtors.

It replaces separate spreadsheets, static PDF reports and conflicting versions of the numbers with live, interactive Power BI reporting.

Who is Practice Clarity designed for?

Practice Clarity is designed for accounting firms that need clearer visibility across their people, clients, jobs, WIP, billing and collections.

It is particularly valuable for firms with multiple partners, managers, teams or offices where practice performance can no longer be managed through memory and separate spreadsheets.

What reporting modules are included?

The five core modules are Timesheet Compliance, Productivity, Work in Progress, Billings and Recoverability, and Debtors.

These modules are connected, allowing the firm to follow performance from available capacity and recorded time through WIP, billing, recovery and collected cash.

Does Practice Clarity replace our practice-management system?

No. Your team continues using its existing practice-management system to manage clients, jobs, workflow, time and billing.

Practice Clarity adds the connected reporting layer that makes the data inside those systems easier to understand and act on.

Which practice-management systems can you connect to?

Practice Clarity can work with systems including Xero Practice Manager, MYOB AE/AO, FYI Elite, Karbon, APS and CCH iFirm.

Other systems can be assessed where suitable access to the required data is available.

Can Practice Clarity connect to more than one data source?

Yes. Multi-source implementations are available. This can include combining practice-management data with workflow, financial or other operational data where suitable access is available.

Does our team need Power BI experience?

No. The platform is designed for partners, practice managers, managers and team members who need clear answers—not for BI analysts.

Training is included as part of the implementation and rollout.

Can we see examples of the dashboards?

Yes. The Product page includes examples from each core module, or you can book a walkthrough for a guided demonstration.

Implementation

From data access to live reporting.

We manage the technical setup, reporting configuration, security and rollout so your team can continue running the practice.

Typical timeframe

Most standard implementations are completed in approximately six weeks.

How quickly can we be up and running?

A standard implementation typically takes approximately six weeks once the scope, required data access and key reporting decisions have been confirmed.

More complex or multi-source implementations may require a different timeframe, which will be discussed before work begins.

What does our firm need to provide?

Your firm provides a kickoff meeting, suitable read-only access to the relevant systems and decisions about reporting priorities, organisational structure and who should see what.

We manage the data modelling, reporting configuration, security setup and rollout.

Will implementation disrupt our current systems?

No. Practice Clarity uses read-only access to the relevant source systems. It does not replace your practice software or alter the operational data stored within it.

Your team continues using its current systems and processes while the reporting layer is established.

How is the reporting configured to our firm?

We begin by understanding your firm structure, reporting priorities, partner and manager responsibilities, existing systems and user-access requirements.

The standard Practice Clarity reporting model is then configured around those firm-specific requirements.

Why is implementation faster than a custom Power BI build?

We are not starting from a blank page. The core reporting model, accounting calculations and standard modules have already been developed for accounting firms.

Implementation focuses on connecting your data and configuring the firm-specific layer rather than designing every report from scratch.

Is training included?

Yes. Partner and manager rollout, user access and training are included as part of implementation. The objective is to ensure the firm understands both what the reporting shows and how to use it in regular management conversations.

Can the platform be refined after rollout?

Yes. Feedback is incorporated during implementation, and minor changes can be handled through the monthly support allowance once the firm is live.

Larger custom requirements are scoped and quoted before additional work proceeds.

Security and access

The right information for the right people.

Practice Clarity uses the Microsoft ecosystem, read-only source connections and role-based access to protect your firm’s reporting.

Read-only source-system access
Microsoft Azure and Power BI
Row-level security
Individual user access
Is Practice Clarity secure?

Practice Clarity operates within the Microsoft ecosystem, using Microsoft Azure and Power BI for the reporting environment.

Access can be managed through Microsoft Entra, workspace and application permissions, security groups and row-level security.

Can Practice Clarity change data in our practice system?

No. Practice Clarity connects to your source systems in read-only mode. It reads the information required for reporting but does not edit, overwrite or delete operational data in your practice-management system.

Can staff see sensitive firm-wide information?

Not unless their role permits it. Row-level security is used to control the information available to each user.

For example, staff can receive a personal view of their own timesheets and performance without receiving access to every other person’s information or the complete partner view.

What is row-level security?

Row-level security applies rules to the reporting data so different users can open the same reporting platform while seeing different information.

This allows partners, managers and staff to receive views aligned with their roles without creating separate copies of every report.

How is user access managed?

Users receive individual access through the Microsoft and Power BI environment. Permissions, security groups and reporting roles are configured during implementation based on the access structure agreed with your firm.

Can access be changed when someone’s role changes?

Yes. User additions, removals and access changes can be managed as roles and responsibilities change. Minor access-management requests can be handled through the included monthly support allowance.

Who owns our firm’s data?

Your firm retains ownership of its data. Practice Clarity provides the managed reporting layer that allows your authorised users to understand and interact with that information.

What happens to our data if we leave?

Your data remains your own. The appropriate deletion or transition process can be agreed and completed if your firm chooses to leave the platform.
